LAYERED STEEL

For the solo exhibition 「Layered-steel」, the artist Hyungshin Hwang newly introduces the series of the unit form with layered polymers and the work of reconstructing or transforming the form of previous work into the same or modified one with stainless steel.

Layered Series is the main theme and concept of work of Hwang, who continues his experiment which is based on architectural composition of layering materials we can easily find around us. This series starts from his childhood memory of an incessantly transforming city with full of geometric architecture. Ever since the beginning of his career when he piled up discarded bricks or concrete pieces to make simple pieces of artwork, he has always experimented with layering.
